Cypripedium: a few survived Cypripedium: a few survived Cypripedium: a few survived
This Dover Rd location, owned by "51718 Ltd", has long been one of the best places in southeastern Manitoba to see Showy lady-slippes, Yellow lady-slippers, and New England asters. But it has now become a residential development with 4-8 acre lots, and construction which has begun on the piece with the best lady-slippers has wiped out most of them. This is a sad. I cannot help wondering if the owners would have acted differently had they been aware of how special this place and its plants were?
