My camera had a major attack of "lens error" where the retractable lens mechanism jammed and refused to retract even when the camera was powered-off. This has been an intermittent problem ever since I took it into a "dirty" cave near Grand Rapids, but today's episode was the most troublesome one to date as I failed repeatedly in my attempts to get it unjammed and thus missed out on several photo opportunities:-( Indeed, this is the reason for the complete absence of the hinted-at photos from the Braintree area. This problem appears to be worse on high-humidity days.
