Photos from near Contour on 2004jul01:
At the Contour site, Doris spotted a woodpecker nesting cavity containing hungry youngsters.
She promptly stuck her finger into the hole, saying she wanted to get bitten, while i wondered about her
sanity. Then we noticed the parents, which turned out to be Black-Backed Three-Toed Woodpeckers, returning
with food; so we backed off, in order to observe the feeding activity.
