## I've concentrated on getting the important days labelled;  making workday
## versus nonworkday distinctions can't be done for all of Canada because of
## variation between provinces, and complete explanations of the exceptions
## wouldn't fit into the boxes;  one solution is to turn off pcal's use of a 
## different colour to mark nonworkdays;  a better solution would require
## making a separate file for each province.
##
## The definition of Canada Day ought to be something like:
##	weekday|Sat on_or_after Jul 1
##
## The two "year all" directives in the US file had me (briefly) puzzled, until
## reading that:  year all  causes following entries to apply to every year, 
## rather than just to the current year;  explanation part-2: entries containing
## year information will set the remembered year to that year;  ergo, this file
## must re-specify "year all" after any entries that contain a year.
## (ie: it's a feature that just looks like a bug:-)

## When a starred day falls on a nonworkday, all provinces except Alberta
## require that employees receive "another day off with pay", which is usually 
## the nearest weekday (Fri or Mon).  The following may not work as intended 
## for New Year's, when the closest weekday falls into the previous year 
## (2004-Dec31 is an example).
## Canada Day has a slightly different rule: when July 1st falls on Sunday,
## then July 2nd is Canada Day [I don't know how to write such a rule];
## however Newfoundland's Memorial Day always falls on the 1st of July.
